Margolin Hebrew Academy/Feinstone Yeshiva of the South
MHA/FYOS
is an Orthodox Jewish school for students from pre-kindergarten through high
school located in Memphis, Tennessee.
Graduates of
MHA/FYOS
have gone on to the finest universities, yeshivot and seminaries in Israel and
have outstanding careers in many fields of endeavor. We seek to instill in our
students an attachment to the State of Israel and its people, as well as a
sense of responsibility for their welfare.
Many alumni currently serve on our board of trustees and remain involved in
fundraising and other supportive activities on behalf of their alma mater.
MHA/FYOS
is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS); is a
participating member of Torah U’mesorah (National Society for Hebrew Day
Schools) and the Association of Modern Orthodox Day Schools; and is affiliated
with the Memphis Jewish Federation.
The school is situated on a beautiful 7-acre parcel in a residential section of
East Memphis. Its central building includes classrooms, offices, a computer
lab, gymnasium, art room and dining room. The early childhood department has
outstanding facilities. The campus includes large open areas that serve as
playing fields.
In 2004, two new playgrounds were completed to serve the individual recreational
needs and abilities of preschool children ages 2-5 and elementary school
students ages 6-12. The Little Tikes commercial play centers are constructed on
a Vitriturf safety surface and cover in excess of 4,500 square feet. Our
students now benefit from a state-of-the-art playground that is on par with any
city park in the Memphis area.
The Cooper Yeshiva High School for Boys' wing includes a beit midrash,
classrooms and a student lounge. Goldie Margolin School for Girls is housed in
a separate building on the campus with a beit midrasha specifically for the
girls' use. There are two separate dormitories for the non-resident students.
MHA/FYOS has an outstanding faculty and administration, many of whom have been
associated with the school for several years. This continuity allows the school
to track each student closely to ensure an optimum educational experience.
With the support of the three Orthodox congregations and the Vaad Harabonim of
Memphis, a remarkably involved and supportive parent and alumni base, and an
exceptional administration, faculty and staff, Margolin Hebrew
Academy/Feinstone Yeshiva of the South offers its students an education steeped
in tradition and Torah values. At the same time, the school provides the most
up to date curriculum and technology available, including sixty computers
school wide in both a computer lab setting and in each classroom. The longevity
of the school and the accomplishments of its students, past and present, are
the true gauge of its success.
