Admissions
To register your child, download the application
form from this website. You are also welcome to come to our school or
call us at 901-682-2400 to request application forms by mail. The following
information will assist you in completing the necessary steps for enrolling
your child.
-
One application form per
student is submitted with a $100 per student non-refundable application fee
($200 family maximum). If your child is transferring from another school, be
sure to have the previous school send us a complete copy of his/her school
records/transcript.
NOTE: No application will be considered without the
application fee.
-
For Margolin Hebrew Academy students (Kindergarten - Grade 8): The Dean and/or
General Studies Principal will meet with you and your child (or conduct a
telephone interview for students with families moving to Memphis). You will be
notified by mail of your child's acceptance to our school. Pre-K students are
not interviewed but families are strongly encouraged to call the school to
arrange a visit.
-
For Feinstone Yeshiva of the South students (High School): After receiving
complete transcripts and test scores, the Dean and/or General Studies Principal
will arrange a convenient time for you and your child to visit the school.
During that visit, personal interviews will be conducted and appropriate
entrance and/or placement examinations may be administered. You will be
notified by mail of your child's acceptance to our school.
-
After acceptance, a family registration packet will be sent to you (you may
also download a 2007-08 registration packet below). The completed packet must
be returned to the school with a registration fee of $400/family (fee goes up
after March 29 for returning families). No registration will be considered
without the registration fee.
-
Families who request financial aid on the form in the registration packet will
be sent forms (Federation forms - one per child; Supplemental Aid Form - one
per family), which must be completed and returned with the specified
documentation (copy of income tax forms and/or business tax forms). You may be
called and asked to arrange a meeting with a member of our Scholarship
Committee. The Scholarship Committee uses utmost discretion in its dealing with
families due to the sensitive nature of this information. No one, other than
Committee members and our Executive Director, is privy to any personal
information given to the school. You will be notified by the school of the
Scholarship Committee's decision regarding tuition.
-
A tuition contract is mailed to each family. The contract must be signed and
dated and returned to the office with your method of payment indicated. This
process must be completed prior to the start of school and preferably before
August 1st of the school year.
