Full Time High School Rebbe and Elementary Morah
Margolin Hebrew Academy is a Modern Orthodox Early Childhood through 12th Grade Jewish Day School in Memphis, Tennessee, and part of a warm and welcoming Jewish community that takes pride in our active and growing community. We are seeking a Judaic Studies teaching couple - teachers who are warm, engaging, and passionate about Jewish education. Specifically, we are seeking a Lower Elementary Judaic Studies teacher who is fluent in Hebrew and a High School Rebbe for the Girls and Boys High Schools.
The primary duties/responsibilities of the Full-Time High School position include, but are not limited to:
Teach in both the Boys and Girls divisions.
Seek opportunities in and out of the classroom to educate and inspire students to love Torah learning - experience working with all levels of learners and less-motivated students is a plus.
An ideal candidate will teach, assess, and mentor all students towards meeting grade level benchmarks while maintaining a warm, loving, intellectually stimulating, and challenging classroom environment.
Demonstrate openness to current trends in education and be committed to ongoing professional development.
If the ideal candidate has an aptitude for coordinating activities, there may be an opportunity to include those responsibilities in the job description.
The primary duties/responsibilities of the Elementary Position include, but are not limited to:
Teaching Judaic Studies and Hebrew language, including: Hebrew reading, building Hebrew vocabulary and speaking skills, Chumash, Parashat Hashavua, Tefillah and basic Jewish knowledge including all the yearly holidays and Shabbat
Plan and arrange annual events as well as Shabbat Parties and other special activities
Collaborate with colleagues within and across subject areas
Experience with Tal Am and Lehavin u’Lehaskil curricula
