Margolin Hebrew Academy
(Grades 1-8)
The Margolin Hebrew Academy elementary school is marked by a warm and embracing atmosphere designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of the Memphis Jewish Community. We believe that children flourish in a child centered atmosphere that praises each child’s accomplishments and values the talents, uniqueness and varied learning styles of each student. Students in upper elementary utilize individual devices (iPad and Chrome books) to facilitate the individualization of learning in all areas of the curriculum.
Students in grades 1-8 participate in a dual-curricular day, meaning half the school day is spent learning Hebrew language, Judaics studies, Torah studies, etc. and the other half of the school day is spent studying traditional academic curriculum.
The Judaic Studies program is designed to foster skills in and an understanding of Chumash, Ivrit, Navi, Mishna and Jewish Law as well as fostering a love for G-d, Torah and the Jewish people, along with an appreciation for Chesed.
The General Studies curriculum, which includes a full array of subjects – Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies, guides students to develop critical thinking skills so they can synthesize, analyze and apply their knowledge in a variety of settings.
In all subject areas, across all disciplines, the methods and modes of empowering and inspiring student learning at the MHA are constantly reviewed and revamped so as to most effectively prepare our students for the 21st century realities they will encounter.
